Food Rounds became a showcase for Argentine products in the continent.
National companies from the sector held business meetings with traders from the United States, Chile, Ecuador, and Paraguay for two days.
Buenos Aires, December 4th, 2020 - The Argentine Agency for Investments and International Trade (AAICI), the Argentine Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishery, and the Ministry of Production, Science, and Technological Innovation from the Province of Buenos Aires organized the International Food Business Round that was held ONLINE on December 3rd and 4th.
During both days, 31 Argentine companies that produce yogurt, cheese, confectionary with or without cacao, cereal products, bakery, cookies, jellies and marmalades, held business meetings with ILAN y Jaime Silva e Hijos (Chile), Purpusly (Estados Unidos), Trovato CISA (Paraguay) and Incremar (Ecuador).
The Food Rounds gathered companies from Santa Fe, Cordoba, Buenos Aires, Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires, Rio Negro, Neuquen, Mendoza and Jujuy. They all attempted to either make their first export or expand their client portfolio abroad.
Latin America is very important in this sector. Brazil is the main destination for cheese and confectionary with cacao exports; Chile and the United States for confectionary with no cacao; Uruguay for cereal products, bakery and cookies (this last one shared with Paraguay), and the United States for jellies and marmalades. At the same time, the Food Rounds were a great occasion for yogurt producers who have not sold their product abroad in the last two years.
